In the Loop was formed by Professor Joanna Verran and is dedicated to interdisciplinary research involving expertise in microbiology and other areas such as materials science. Moreover, Professor Verran is a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Centre of Excellence has significant educational resources for microbiology.
